Here at the Mighty 5th Saffron Walden Scout Group we get a little excited about Christmas! Whether it’s the Scouts heading off to their annual Christmas camp at Wells next the Sea or the Cubs running their community focused Cubs’ Christmas Café, we all embrace the Christmas spirit!
This year we aim to give you lots of ideas to keep you occupied and to help with those all important letters to Santa!

Gift ideas & stocking fillers
We’ve put together a list of recommended kit that will see your young person through their time in Scouts. We’ve also got a list of stocking fillers! The list is varied to give options for every budget – and remember, money should never be a barrier to Scouting. If you need help sourcing some kit, ask a leader, chances are that they’ll know someone who has a spare or an outgrown item.

Advent calendars
Here you can find bespoke advent calendars for each section. Each day has an activity which contributes towards a badge component. Remember to record what your young person has achieved and share the photos, videos and descriptions with your section leader. The challenges don’t need to be completed on the day but anytime you need your Scout entertained! There is one for each section and doors are locked until their specific date!
Complete 12 challenges to earn a special Christmas Challenge blanket badge. The young person to complete the most challenges in each section will win a selection box!
